COOPER FRANK

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Hi, I’m Cooper.

I’m a recent mechanical engineering graduate who enjoys solving complex problems and figuring out how things actually work. I focus on combining analytical thinking with common sense to come up with clear, effective solutions.

Outside of engineering, I’m also a competitor in the CPA Natural Bodybuilding Federation, where I like to put a strong emphasis on discipline and physical wellbeing.

I’m always looking for opportunities to work on challenging projects, and be part of teams that push me to grow!

Recent Engineering Designs & Prototypes

Skills & Expertise

01

CAD & Technical Design

Proficient in SolidWorks for part modelling, assembly creation, and engineering drawings. Designed all CAD components and produced full engineering drawing packages for a mechanical capstone project from concept through prototype.

04

Structural Analysis

Foundational understanding of stress-strain relationships, bending, shear, and fatigue from coursework in Mechanics of Materials and Machine Element Design, applied practically during capstone engineering calculations.

02

Mechanical Design

Hands-on experience translating engineering requirements into manufacturable designs, including material selection, tolerance analysis, and design for assembly within real constraints of cost, weight, and safety factors.

05

Prototyping and Testing

Experience building and validating physical prototypes, designing test procedures, collecting force and displacement data, and comparing experimental results against theoretical predictions.

03

Technical Documentation

Experienced in producing formal engineering drawings, technical reports, and project documentation to academic and professional standards using SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.

06

Team-Based Engineering

Proven ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing responsibilities across design, documentation, and testing phases of a full product development cycle.

Innovative Engineering & Technical Design

With a focus on CAD design and hands-on product development, my capstone project — a fully mechanical spring-powered portable cable trainer, took me through the complete design cycle. Engineering analysis, 3D modelling, technical drawings, physical prototyping, and structured testing. I'm looking for roles where I can keep building on that and contribute to real mechanical problems from day one.
